India’s Underprivileged children: A Challenge !

Around 150 million children in India never meet a teacher, never sit in a
classroom and never get a chance to get educated. There are 500,000 in Delhi
alone, who cannot see the ray of light in their hopeless situations. |
| These children live in the dirty slums or relocation
colonies in Delhi. Most of them go hungry nearly all day, wear dirty
clothes, take care of their siblings and are in poor health. Stepping into a
school can be the wildest dream they can ever have. |

 |
Poverty is so deep and a small dent cuts down their very livelihood!
The result? They do not want to send their
children to school. Education is not yet the fundamental right of a child in
India and Social Security Scheme or Unemployment Allowance are yet unheard
of! |
| The Good Samaritans challenge the economic challenge of India’s
underprivileged children by picking them up from the slums, giving them a place
to learn and providing physical, academic and spiritual nourishment! In the
process, parents are not completely absolved of their responsibilities. |
| They are encouraged to share the cost of their children’s education, however
small the share may be. |

 |
In Delhi, The Good Samaritans is helping a thousand children to get good
education.
From one child, in the past thirteen years more than 5000 children
have been helped. |
