Rahul Tarachand

Rahul belongs to one of the untouchable communities of India. Both he and his sister Anisha are determined to make a difference with education.
Outspoken and smiling this son of a cobbler is very good at studies. His favourite subjects are Science, Maths and English. He would like to become a doctor or a scientist.
Deepa Roy

With a smile on her face, she is steadily improving in her studies. She is now in grade VI
Amit

Totally handicapped waist downward, Amit cannot walk. His friends have to lift him to change place. Undaunted this 13 year old keeps himself very alert and attentive in the class and comes first in academics.
Coming from a poor family, where the father is an attender earning just $40 a month, the family struggles to keep all the four children in school. Mother Usha supplements the family income with $15 a month as a maid.
Hare Krishna

12 years old Hare Krishna has been a heart patient with swelling in the valve. He has to take regular injections once in three weeks. His father is a graduate and works in a soil testing company.
However he earns just $50 a month which is not enough to care for his son’s heart and to run the family. Hare Krishna has put his trust in the healing power of Jesus and feels much better. He wants to be a doctor with heart specialization to help people with heart problems.
Jai Prakash

11 years old Jai Prakash is a child with bright eyes. He loves to learn Maths and understands it so well. Once he was bitten by a monkey in the school and is scared of them. He loves to go to church and sing songs. He is in class VI.
Mrithunjoy Haldhar

Mrithunjoy lost his father when he was five. His mother works as maid in many houses to feed the children. He’s in 11th grade. He says “When I am educated I can support my mother and brothers and sisters.”
In this school I have come to know about the living God. When I grow I want to support children like me who do not have any help.
Ravi Munnalal

Ravi’s father is a painter and mother a maid. He finds it difficult to pay his share of the education cost as his father doesn’t have a regular income. He goes to school only with a cup of tea. His uncle has cancer.
He once knelt near his uncle’s bed and prayed for him for two hours and saw the miracle of him getting up from his death bed.
